Sunny days

June 13, 2017

What a lovely feeling when you wake up at first light with sunshine streaming through your window, you leap out of bed ready to start the day and you realise it's only 5am!! Outside there is hardly a breath of wind, the cool air is still but resonates with birdsong from the lush, green hedgerows. Fast approaching the longest day of the year the very early mornings are often the best time of the day to appreciate the landscape. Getting out on the water rarely disappoints with a sunrise over the Roseland Peninsula before casting it's glow over Falmouth Bay and the magnificent harbour. The last of the nighttime cloud begins to disperse like a cozy blanket being drawn back from a beautiful day.

"Black Rock Sunrise" is one such image capturing the peaceful break of day as the ochre sunrise glows upon the horizon.

Glassy waters reflect the abundance of sun rising yellows in this more abstract composition of Falmouth Bay stretching out to the distant skyline.
